Graduates of the Master in Applied Mathematics, Mg. Luis Concha and Mg, Javiera Salazar, recently published part of their thesis in scientific journals indexed in Web of Science.

Luis Concha was part of the multidisciplinary team that published the article "Cost function analysis applied to different kinetic release models of Arrabidaea chica Verlot Extract from Chitosan/Alginate Membranes" (https://doi.org/10.3390/polym14061109) in the Polymers magazine ( Q1, IF 4.967) This publication derived from his thesis "Simulation of the release of Arrabidaea chica extract from inflatable chitosan/alginate membranes", defended in January 2021.

On the other hand, Javiera Salazar participated in the mathematical team that published the work "Mathematical Modeling of Recursive Drug Delivery with Diffusion, Equilibrium, and Convection Coupling" (https://doi.org/10.3390/math10132171) in the journal Mathematics ( Q1, IF 2.592). This article is part of his thesis "Mathematical modeling of controlled drug diffusion through cyclodextrin polymers in breast implants", defended in March 2022.

Both graduates developed their thesis under the direction of Professor Dr. Jacobo Hernández, and it is expected that they will publish the second parts of their respective projects during this year.

Luis Concha is professor at the San Sebastián University, Valdivia campus, and Javiera Salazar is professor at University La Frontera, Temuco.
