Functions of the Academic Committee

According to the General Postgraduate Regulations (Decree 163/10), Article 13, the Academic Committee is the highest collegiate authority of this Postgraduate Program, which must meet at least twice per semester, recording the content of the sessions and they must be signed by all members.
The Academic Committee of the Master of Applied Mathematics is composed by three academics from the Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, and two academics from the other Departments of the Faculty of Engineering. In order to be a member of the Academic Committee, the professional must have at least 1 year as a professor in the program. The Director of the Program will preside over the Academic Committee.
The functions of the Academic Committee are:
  1. To ensure compliance with the internal regulations of the program and the general regulations of the postgraduate program.
  2. To ensure the proper implementation of the Study Plan.
  3. To monitor compliance with academic evaluations.
  4. To propose modifications to the study plan to the Graduate Directorate.
  5. To propose to the Postgraduate Directorate, directors of AFE.
  6. To approve AFE projects and ensure compliance with their execution deadlines.
  7. To resolve the allocation of scholarships and send it to the Graduate Directorate for approval.
  8. To resolve differences between AFE directors and students, being able to change the director if appropriate.
  9. To resolve any other situation that is not contemplated in this list, for the proper functioning of this Graduate Program.
